Perseverance: Psalm 68

Through deserts you will lead
    Past enemy and foe,
And though at times I bleed,
I trust that best you know.
    I follow where you go.

In lonely days I live
    With broken heart in pain,
Yet oft’ to me you give
    A shelter from the rain,
    A place with you again.

And weak as I am now,
    Unable to defend,
Your strength will show me how
    To evil never bend,
    To stand until the end.

While mute may be my tongue,
    Not knowing what to say,
Into my heart that’s wrung
You pour your love each day.
You show me a new way.

So on eternal morn
    When you I fin’lly see,
I will be newly born
    And freely sing of thee,
    And praise eternally.
