The Waiting Bride: Psalm 45

Along all time across the earth
The only way to find our worth
The only cause you see as good
When righteous men for truth have stood.
Your blessings may be opulent
Some gold for love and marriage spent
And sons you give to carry on
A name to those of future dawn.
But no gift comes from you above
Unless your righteousness I love
Unless I fight for cause of truth
To dying day and from my youth.

Lord, make me wait before your throne
Till holy love becomes my own.
Guide sure the steps I take each day
Throughout my life until you say,
“Now come to me my holy bride
And live forever at my side.
Now sit beside eternal throne
Endless joy to be your own.
Forever love to you I give
And evermore with me you’ll live.”
Until that day please make of me
A righteous vessel kept for thee.
