Psalm 130: Life Cycle

Read my Psalm 130 Meditation: Moving Mountains
Read Psalm 130 from the ESV

 Darkest night with colors gone,
Soul’s dark ache and muted song.
 Endless pit and shadows gloom,
     Hellish soul in darkened room.
Watchman waits for break of day.
From the depths you hear me say,
“When will your light this way come?
When will your grace have I some?”

 The blackest night slowly breaks,
This heart of mine lesser aches.
Through cloudy sky peeks the sun,
From heart and soul darkness runs.
Muted shades now bright with rays,
     Soul delights in holy ways.
All that once was colored dull
Shines with love from holy hall.

 Scintillating colors new,
Tearful eyes wiped dry by you.
 Darkest shades outlined by light,
     Brightest day conquers the night.
 Basking face in sunny glow,
Mercy for my sins you show.
 Hope eternal held in thee,
     Strongest chains broken for me.

 Yet day’s dusk returns again,
Darkest pit filled deep with sin.
 Shadows conquer colored fields,
Will of mine to evil yields.
Fading light at days dark end,
In the pit my soul I send.
 Darkest night with colors gone,
Souls dark ache and muted song.
